Amazon Studios launched in 2010 as a new way to develop feature films and episodic series-one that's open to great ideas from creators and audiences around the world. Amazon Studios Original Content is available to Prime members and is known for bringing customers the Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-winning films Manchester by the Sea and The Salesman, alongside the Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-winning series Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle. Prime members also have access to a collection of Amazon Original series for kids and an extensive library of Amazon feature films.
Amazon Studios releases 14 - 16 films per year to Theaters, Home Entertainment and Prime Video. Our films are ambitious, independent movies by visionary directors that require innovative materials, creative marketing campaigns and excellent communication with internal team members and filmmakers.
We are seeking an experienced Amazon Synergy & Merchandising Manager to drive our internal synergistic marketing efforts as part of the marketing and distribution team. This role will focus on working with a variety of Amazon divisions to develop marketing plans and support Original Movies releases across theatrical, home entertainment and Prime Video windows to include onsite merchandising, broader partnerships and performance analysis. We are looking for a passionate individual who has at least 5 years experience in promotions and partnerships and internal synergy campaigns for entertainment brands. The role requires excellent project management skills, an aptitude for data-analysis, a keen eye for compelling and innovative campaign development and a passion for continuous testing. Responsibilities
• Participate in the conception and execution of synergy marketing initiatives with other Amazon divisions for Original Movies
• Collaborate with and manage internal partners and stakeholders to implement promotional opportunities supporting and enhancing the brand campaigns for Original releases
• Collaborate with Amazon Video and IMDb to develop and implement cohesive site merchandising opportunities that support overall campaign goals
• Help track and analyze key marketing metrics and campaign performance
• Work closely with the marketing and media teams to implement promotions involving both internal and external partners
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 years of relevant marketing experience doing synergy or franchise management at a studio
• Ability to collaborate successfully with internal partners and stakeholders or major entertainment company, brand management at a major brand and/or marketing agency, consumer marketing, marketing communications and/or digital/high-technology consumer companies/products
• An understanding of marketing principles and communication tactics including various forms of digital/social, out of home, grassroots, TV/radio, and alternative marketing
• Ability to use metrics to track performance of promotions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Relevant marketing experience within entertainment or original entertainment properties
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to work hard and roll up sleeves to get work done, even when at times it is outside the scope of the job
