Job Summary:
Transmission and Encoding Operations Center is looking for an entry-level operator to cover 4 overnight shifts, and one day shift, weekly. This is a 40-hour-week, full time position on our Operations Team.
We traffic audio and video feeds worldwide and are heavily evolved in their live streaming.
Applicants must be extremely tech savvy, with a proven track record of success in the audio video field.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Master all workflows and technologies as they relate to overnight operations. Know best practice troubleshooting and escalation measures as they relate to overnight operations.
• Acquire, quality assure and monitor all live feeds on your shift. Prepare backup workflows in the event of primary path failure. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise in a swift manner to keep feeds on the air.
• Operate the facility's hardware and software to accomplish daily tasks.
• Coordinate with supervisors, other departments, venders and clients to ensure the success of any live event occurring on your shift.
• Participate in on-going training to comprehend facility operations and our business
• Quality Assure delivered audio & video assets, and prep for on-air playback.
Prepare and deliver transcoded VOD files per client's requirements.
• Preform satellite downlinks, dark video fiber acquisitions and setup Internet Protocol feeds.
• Log technical issues and report them to supervisors and engineering team.
• Field phone calls from clients and associated company's technical leads.
• Quality assure and prep video slates, bugs and other graphical deliverables for a live show.
Ideal Candidate:
• Degree in television broadcasting or equivalent
• A proven ability to manage a video related project from start to finish
• Experience operating broadcast and or transmission hardware and software
• Comprehension of video formats; aspect ratios, bitrates, framerates, etc. SD HD 4K
• Familiarity with worldwide teleports and transmission providers
• Experience capturing, logging, ingesting, live-encoding (or similar) audio & video feeds; and relating hardware and software
• Familiarity with facility networking/IT and Internet Protocols
• Previous overnight shift experience a plus. Preference of overnight shifts a major plus.
