Our Team
The Agency is the award-winning internal creative agency for Discovery Communications. We produce advertising and marketing campaigns in print, digital, on-air and out of home for all of Discovery Communications’ networks and corporate initiatives, including Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery and more.
The Role
This role requires an advertising and marketing professional with a passion for creative and advertising, and knowledge of the latest work and ideas.
On any given day, an ideawriter could be brainstorming a brand campaign, developing short-form content ideas, coming up with show titles, concepting a 360-digital experience, ghost tweeting – along with writing headlines or TV promos.
S/he must have strong creative writing skills, be well-versed in the art of story-telling and relish working in any media – beyond just traditional print, TV and OOH to long-form interactive microsites, new media and ambient. S/he knows that the best advertising messages are holistic and translate across many platforms.
S/he must have solid conceptual abilities and be a strategic thinker, with ideas that deliver on brand and on brief. Versatility, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with other team members, especially art directors and designers, is essential.
S/he pitches finished work with confidence and passion to clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide creative and effective ideas and copy for advertising, marketing and general creative campaigns.
2. Collaborate with art directors to produce integrated campaigns as well as stand-alone pieces of work that are strategic, innovative and net measurable
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
* 3 to 6 years agency and/or creative broadcast marketing experience.
* Solid experience creating work on 360 campaigns, from concept all the way to production.
* College graduate with at least an undergraduate degree in language arts, journalism, marketing or other degrees that serve the profession.
* Must have legal right to work in the United States.
* Must be team player, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, delivering first-rate work on each one.
* Above-average ability to sell ideas with passion, present work to clients in a clear and compelling manner and the capacity to process and incorporate client feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
* Cable or entertainment experience preferred.
