ABC Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night is responsible for the Network's reality programming, and all this unscripted. The slate includes: ''The Bachelor Franchise,'' ''Shark Tank,'' ''Dancing with the Stars,'' ''Jimmy Kimmel Live,'' and the ''Charlie Brown Holiday Specials.'' Responsibilities
A day in the life…
As an intern with the Alternative Series & Specials team, you will perform administrative, presentation and research-oriented tasks on behalf of department executives and their respective assistants. You will be able to occasionally participate in brainstorming and development meetings, screenings, set visits, and other department functions related to the creative development of our programming.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
-Administrative Duties: Assist in watching phone lines, creating documents, organization, making copies of documents and DVDs.
-Updating Reports: Research various topics and update current reports using Microsoft Suite.
-View and File Pitch Material: Look at pitch material that has been submitted to see what types of shows are being pitched, and file away.
-Screen Cuts: View cuts of current shows we have in production before they go on air.
-Set Visits: Go to set for some of our shows that are currently taping.
Basic Qualifications
What you bring to the role:
-Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
-Proven skills utilizing MS Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
-A proven knowledge and familiarity with Mac computer systems.
-An interest in unscripted television and hunger to learn about network television.
-Proven organizational skills while ensuring attention to detail.
-A demonstrated ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing work environment.
PLUS:
-All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
-All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
-All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
-All candidates must be available during the months of September through December for the Fall internship program.
-All candidates must be available to work 40 hours/week in Burbank, CA.
-All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
-All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
-Junior or Senior-level standing, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date.
-Experience in covering phone lines for executives and/or senior leadership.
-Proficiency using Photoshop, Final Cut, iMovie and Keynote.
-Previous internship experience within a related field.
-Knowledge of current series on ABC and other networks is a plus, along with a passion for television.
