Part Time Job
The Part-Time Board Operator/Producer at ESPN Chicago 1000AM is one who will oversee show board production, while at the same time assume responsibility of assisting the production team. This position will be one of our main contacts point for network, local and local.com communication. This job will include building relationships with key local clients and guests. This position will be the lead in directing talent on mechanics and fundamentals (resets, promotion mentions). Responsible for fulfillment of audio billboards, commercials and paid promotional announcements.
Responsibilities
• Helps set the tone for all other producers and enforces station and network on-air policies, while still producing a daily show.
• Develops and supports talk show topics. Directs talent on mechanics and fundamentals (resets, promotion mentions).
• Helps to train and develop board operators and producers.
• Daily talk show rundowns and recaps.
• Will be running network and local play by play
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a radio board operator or production experience
• Extensive digital audio platforms experience with Wide Orbit or similar
• Ability to multi task
• Occasionally will be required to both operate the board and produce basic talk shows
• Experience working with on-air talent
• Podcast editing and posting experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Production background in a major market
• Success of at least 3 years in producing a major market program.
• Digitally and social media savvy is a must and will be part of daily show routine.
Required Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication, or graduation from a certified communications school.
