Full Time Job
The Business Analyst is responsible for the inception, creation, and maintenance of all Business Requirements documentation that accurately defines the customer business need and enables the technology team to create a quality solution. The primary objective for this group is to partner and collaborate with the business to accurately capture all relevant business processes and information and translate it into graphical and textual representation for the technology team to build a system. The BA will participate in the functional certification of all system components to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements documentation.
This is a project role with an estimated duration of one (1) year.
Responsibilities
• Facilitate Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with Business and Technology Partners.
• Create Business Process Maps to document current and future state processes.
• Create written and graphic documentation to capture Business and Functional Requirements, including Unified Modeling Language (UML) artifacts such as Use Cases and Activity Diagrams where necessary.
• Maintain Functional Requirements throughout entire project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain strong relationship with Business Partners.
• Work closely with Project Manager to manage any required changes in scope.
• Effectively communicate requirements with Technology team (Architecture, Development, QA, etc.).
• Participate in testing and functional certification process.
Basic Qualifications
• Ability to gather and document business requirements, follow standard practices for Requirements Gathering Process, and committed to ensure that systems delivered are of high quality and meet all customer requirements.
• Experienced in Business Process Mapping using Visio or similar tool.
• Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Excellent analysis and interviewing skills.
• Proficient/Expert using MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to work either independently or closely with others as the needs of the project dictates. Must maintain a customer service and quality focus at all times.
• Must be a fast learner with a strong desire and motivation to learn the unique aspects of the ESPN business and current applications.
• Must be highly adaptable to perform in a fast paced environment.
• Must have a minimum of 6 years' experience as a business analyst in mature Information Technology organizations. Preferred Requirements:
• Strong experience with UML artifacts (writing / creating Use Cases and Activity Diagrams).
• Experience working in Agile Development Methodology.
• 3-5 years' experience in the broadcast media industry.
• Experience working with network television pricing & planning or traffic operations
