The Director of Project Management is a key senior position in charge of managing the studio's client relationships and the delivery of their respective projects. As a counterpart to and in conjunction with the Associate Creative Director will plan, execute and manage all projects through execution and delivery; ensuring all projects align with the studio's vision, mission, standards of excellence. Director will also be responsible in developing a culture that will foster team building, collaboration, efficiency and overall growth.
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through an understanding of their business while delivering client services at the studio's standards; identify and encourage opportunities to engage client throughout process (kick-off meeting, concept evolution, presentation of work)
• Support the Associate Creative Director in the development and management of client project plan, project strategy, content development, project deliverables, and timeline
• Spearhead project management and ensure execution in accordance with specifications; managing logistics from inception through the delivery and billing/payment fulfillment phase; driving projects to final completion by keeping the team both on track and highly motivated
• Read scripts and/or watch screeners to create a clear synopsis and brief for each project
• Interview and schedule Independent Contractors and Specialty Artists; ensuring adequate pipeline of freelance talent is available to complete projects
• Ensure constant, clear, and concise communication with internal teams and clients on project milestones, timelines and budgets on to avoid misrepresentations
• Review client feedback and comments; capture changes in project scope; communicate these internally as well as to the client (includes managing change in scope)
• Demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness to meet both internal team and client needs; effectively communicate to ensure expectations and studio standards are met
• Direct oversight of project managers and coordinators
• Aid in the overall development of a team environment that recruits, retains, and promotes top talent
• Develop and implement standards, controls and workflows to improve the performance, processes, productivity, and efficiency of project managers; create and lead strategic management goals, as needed, to attain results
• Maintain process documentation, monthly audits and other management reports as directed
• Ensure brand integrity and brand alignment by ensuring that all communications are representative of the studio's brand and establish internal controls and protocols to this end
• Monitor client satisfaction and retention with an eye for continuous improvement
• Maintain relevant knowledge regarding Industry standards impacting the studio's practices
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications (Technical and Non-Technical)
• Minimum four (4) years' experience in a similar position and environment (creative/marketing studio)
• Experienced knowledge of studio systems and applications at a highly proficient level
• Strong strategic, analytical and critical problem-solving skills
• Experience in a similar management capacity required; expert in prioritizing and coordinating special projects independently and in collaboration with other key staff; a true multi-tasker
• Heightened client-services acumen; effective verbal and written communications skills; ability to create, compose and edit written materials
• Ability to balance schedules and deliverables of multiple teams in multiple locations spread across different time zones
• Previous experience within an entertainment studio; capability in maintaining confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion in all aspects of position
