Full Time Job
The IGBP is seeking a Media Coordinator to support the organization's continued efforts to ensure there exists a story for every young LGBTQ+ person feeling isolated and alone during their process of self-affirmation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the organization's global social media strategy
Schedule social media calendars and manage the daily postings
Write and edit copy for social media calendars and posts
Conceptualize and create compelling video content
Help coordinate with various departments (Media/Strategic Partnerships, Executive, and Education/Global Programming) to develop social media content
Help compile reports and analytics
Help the Director, Media and Strategic Partnerships in developing the larger strategies around each social media platform, and make recommendations on improving results
Serve as social media subject matter expert for International Affiliate Network
Monitor, maintain, and optimize the IGBP's YouTube and Twitch channels.
Maintain and update, as needed, ItGetsBetter.org
Support general digital communication strategies
Maintain and update media contact lists
Provide project management support for the Director, Media and Strategic Partnerships
Help keep track of influencers, bloggers, online communities, etc.
Cultivate relationships with influencers and bloggers, and engage them on social media channels as tied to various IGBP campaigns
Manage IGBP Media Intern pool
Work at major events as assigned; including occasional evenings and weekends
Serve as representative at tabling and speaking engagements in the community, as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education requirement: B.A. in related field or equivalent media/entertainment-related experience (minimum 2 years)
Outstanding written, verbal and visual communication skills
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, G Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.), and WordPress CMS
Ability to capture and edit video content
Knowledge of CSS / HTML is a plus
In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, Tumblr, etc.) and related trends
Must be a creative, reliable and conscientious self-starter with strong time-management skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Some travel may be required
