Working in conjunction with the Senior Vice President, Creative Services, Tribune Broadcasting, and the Vice President, Creative Director of KTLA 5, the Supervising Producer will directly manage multiple team Producers.
This position is tasked with maintaining a consistent, on message communication across on-air promotions and includes additional specializations: On-Air Branding, On-Air Scheduling, Marketing and Post Production.
The Supervising Producer will produce, edit and supervise compelling, brand compliant on-air promos. Must have high proficiency with marketing messaging and editorial ; strong aptitude for new technology; a sense of humor and authentic, engaging production style; self-directing, self-motivating, with ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be a versatile team player with the ability to help increase ratings with unique, cutting-edge creativity, a competitive spirit and strong team collaborator.
The Supervising Producer is responsible for day to day creative management of Creative Services editorial operations serving Tribune Broadcasting and KTLA 5.
The position is based in Los Angeles at Tribune Creative Group, West.

Delegation of Writer/Producer (NLE editorial) team
Break structure analysis, Snipe scheduling
Direct Supervision:
Copywriting
Editorial
Music
Sound Design
Sound Mixing
Retail Versioning
Quality Control
Shared Area Network (SAN) and Local Storage administration
Inflow / outflow of all broadcast assets
Editorial training
Department Standardization
Expedited Hardware/Software evolution and implementation across NLE team
Daily/Weekly Editorial workflow updates
Additional Duties: The Supervising Producer will also support the NLE team through writing, producing, editing and mixing of top line promotional, marketing and branding projects, including:
Tribune Corporate Reels
Syndication Launches
Syndication Campaigns
Event Programming
Navigational Branding
Pitch Reels
Aural Branding and Sound Design
In Cinema Promotion
Experiential Marketing
Lower Third Promotion
REQUIREMENTS:
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, but have the flexibility to accommodate tight deadlines.
• Expert editing capability with Final Cut Pro or Premiere with strong knowledge of PhotoShop and After Effects.
• College degree with an emphasis in Communications or Broadcasting required
• Must have a minimum of 5-10 years Creative Services experience in a broadcast environment, boutique agency, or post-production house
• A thorough knowledge of TV station operations, production and website promotion is desirable.
