Vice President Research
We are LBI Media, Inc., the largest privately held, minority-owned Spanish-language broadcaster in the United States, with ten television stations and sixteen radio stations operating in top U.S. Hispanic markets. LBI Media, Inc. is also the parent company to the Estrella TV Network, and Fenomeno Studios MCN. We produce over 50 hours of original television programming for the Estrella TV Network at our Burbank Television Studios each week. The Estrella TV programming catalog consists of over 8,500 hours of original, Spanish-language television programming in genres including variety, reality, comedy, music and more.
Position Summary:
The Vice President Research will lead the design, execution and analysis of research-based solutions for LBI Media Inc's Sales, Affiliate, Audience Tracking and Measurement, Programming, and Digital research efforts. The Vice President will interact directly with senior leaders and executive management to provide high quality and thought provoking analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Source, hire, train, develop and manage performance of Research staff.
• Provide custom analysis, optimizing all research systems (e.g. Nielsen Galaxy, NTI, N Power, Simmons research, Strata systems and other Nielsen systems.
• Provide competitive analysis on programming ratings performance, audience flow, audience skew and retention.
• Present to clients and provide compelling, qualitative information to assist sales process.
• Advise on strategic opportunities to increase network awareness and tune in, understand viewers and potential viewers.
• Advise on how to increase awareness and usage of digital properties, and understand digital environment.
Requirements:
• Bachelor degree; MBA preferred with minimum 7 years media research experience.
• Creative and strategic thinker with advanced analytic skills.
• Ability to discern trends in the industry and understand the competitive landscape.
• Advanced Excel and Access database system, PowerPoint and other presentation software.
• Thorough knowledge of Nielsen Media Research Databases, Simmons, NTI, N Power, and Strata systems.
• Ability work in a fast paced environment, multi-task and juggle competing priorities.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Responsive to both internal department staff and external clients.
• Knowledge of Digital environment.
• Bilingual: English/Spanish a plus, but not a requirement.
