Netflix is rapidly evolving its Digital Supply Chain (DSC) to meet our global expansion goals and maintain constant innovation for our product. To ensure the supplier eco-system is well poised to support this evolution, Netflix seeks to partner with key stakeholders in hardware manufacturing, software creation, industry bodies and standards groups. We're looking for an Senior Engineer that has deep knowledge in the mezzanine file creation space, understands the big picture of Digital Supply Chain, and can be strategic in collaborating with partners to ensure maximum impact and benefit to Netflix's needs. This individual will facilitate mutually beneficial relationships between Netflix and industry leaders in the digital supply-chain space. You will ensure our partners understand current needs and future roadmap to ensure their products can continue to play a meaningful role in Netflix's DSC.
The Media Engineering and Partnerships team is composed of standout engineers and relationship managers that act as pioneer-consultants to the Film and Television industry. We focus on guiding the global entertainment industry supply chain beyond broadcast standards and into the new era of film and television consumption. You will be the externally facing partner with automated Quality Control tools, IMF manufacturing tools, Subtitles/Captions programs, and industry bodies like the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE), Entertainment Identification Registry, and many others. Every relevant piece of software or hardware in the asset creation eco-system should accommodate an easy path towards Netflix compliant deliverables. This role is ideal for an expert post house engineer with a track record of building and growing relationships with external partners.
Key Attributes / Requirements:
• Deep understanding of video codecs, subtitle formats, digital file manufacturing processes and common industry tools for file preparation.
• 10 years experience working at a post-production lab or studio preparing files or building workflows for digital platforms.
• Willingness and ability to act a thought leader by; speaking at events, writing blog post and contributing the the Netflix Help Center.
• Strong desire to be a recognized industry leader in the preparation of media assets for a global streaming platform.
• Expertise preparing media with 3rd party applications (video, subtitles, audio, XML).
• History of building and growing symbiotic relationships with 3rd party companies.
• An ability to translate technical jargon into plain English.
• Willingness and aptitude to educate both internal and external entities with varying degrees of knowledge in the technical aspects of the Digital Supply Chain as it relates to Netflix.
• Extensive understanding of post-production and syndication workflows.

• Stay highly aligned with multiple cross-functional teams, including Content Operations, Engineering, Quality Control, Localization, and Encoding.
