SUMMARY
We are RQ, a team of cultural scientists redefining how brands interact with people of influence.
We collaborate with powerhouse brands to reposition the role of relationships within the marketing mix.
RQ is looking for outgoing, self-starters that are savvy, conscientious and entrepreneurial to work at our agency. We are currently seeking an Event Manager to join the team. Working across all of our clients, including Airbnb, YouTube & Samsung Home Appliances, the ideal candidate is a team player that brings a creative and strategic mind, experience, passion for the pop culture space, and quick thinking to a fast growing team of professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work evenings and weekends. Must have a love for special event management and creative output, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with internal and external clients. This candidate is creative and has a genuine passion for innovative ideas, thinking out of the box, always striving to blow it out of the park.
Event Planning and Production
Work across all clients, managing the experiential projects from brief through execution
Delivering events on time, within budget, that exceed client expectations.
Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project
Work closely with internal teams to ensure output aligns with client strategies and are on brand
Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities.
Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
Manage on-site production and clean up for events as necessary.
Close out all events as required.
Event Administration
Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to staff directors for each event project.
Keep track of event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting.
Coordinate appointments and visits to see event spaces, and scheduling of events on the calendar.
Prepare and modify event contracts as requested
Key Skills
5+ years in event production and management.
Passionate about events and production.
Proven knowledge of the industry and the passion for knowing what's hot and upcoming.
Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff.
Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
Calm under pressure - need to remain calm during crisis and the high pressure of an event in progress.
Problem solver - ability to think on your feet and resolve problems as they arise quickly and efficiently.
Superior customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches.
Photoshop, cad design preferred.
