Full Time Job
Rodale Inc., is currently seeking a proactive, articulate and energetic Sales Assistant to support the NYC-based sales team at Men’s Health. This individual is crucial in supporting the day-to-day function of the Men’s Health sales staff. The Sales Assistant position requires attention to detail, organization, strong communication and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a positive can-do attitude, ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and work with many dynamic personalities. This position is located in New York City.
Support the Day to Day Function of the Men’s Health Sales Organization:
• Aide in the organization of sales prep materials including competitive research, scheduling of the appointments and coordination of all logistics for travel
• Complete RFPs and proactive proposals in coordination with sales director and finance department; understand the process and how to coordinate accurate answers
• Manage accurate client and agency contact lists for the sales managers/directors
• Assist with accurate reporting of the print and digital revenue reporting through AMS and communication with digital sales planners; be proficient in Rodale reporting systems to be able to pull accurate reports for the sales team
• Assist the sales directors and digital sales planners in the post-sale management of digital campaigns including developing screenshot presentations for campaign wrap-up reports
• Handle basic administrative tasks such as submission of expense reports, maintain office supplies and magazine subscriptions
• Have a strong attention to detail and organization skills
Internal & External Relationships:
• Work collaboratively and effectively with all internal departments including corporate sales, marketing, research and management
• Work collaboratively with other sales assistants to support the Men’s Health sales team
• Communicate effectively (oral and written communication skills) on behalf of Men’s Health with clients and agency contacts as directed
• Have a positive, respectful can do attitude
• Represent the Men’s Health brand with a polished, professional approach
Project Management:
• Assist with daily, monthly projects to support the Men’s Health sales directors, managers and the business manager for competitive analysis, print and digital revenue pacing and other strategic goals as needed
• Assist the marketing department with special events and projects as needed
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Previous assistant or internship experience in a publishing or sales organization is a plus
• Strong written, verbal and analytical skills
• Strong PC skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Highly detail-oriented
• Demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced environment
