VStar Entertainment Group (''VStar'' or the ''Company'') is one of the nation's leading multi-concept media and entertainment platforms and producer of family-friendly consumer shows and events. The company owns, operates and promotes multiple North American tours scheduled to visit more than 150 cities, including Sesame Street LIVE, a Broadway-quality musical production, produced in cooperation with Sesame Workshop; Paw Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue, a Broadway-quality interactive experience produced in cooperation with Nickelodeon, and Discover the Dinosaurs Unleashed, a dinosaur-themed, family-oriented, educational and entertainment touring exhibit. Past touring shows also include Care Bears Carealot, Hasbro's My Little Pony, Kidzbop World Tour, and Curious George Live.
The Company also: (i) arranges international tours and operates tours for the USO; and (ii) owns a production shop that produces all sets, scenes, and costumes for its touring shows. Additionally, the company leverages these capabilities and services for the benefit of third parties including the building of the mascots for over 20 professional sports teams and organizations.
As a leading touring entertainment platform with diversified content (five active and operational shows), format (arenas, theatres, convention centers, state fairs, etc.) and geography (U.S. and international), VStar is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the large-scale family entertainment market.
Primary Objective
Position of Touring Production Manager requires leadership of crews, along with supervision and management for all technical and production departments. Has primary responsibility for unit movement logistics and tour travel, venue advances and other operational oversights on the tour.
Major Areas of Accountability
Works on a day-to-day basis alongside Tour Manager to maintain the integrity, consistency and safety of the tour.
Liaison with venue contacts, trucking companies, and travel agencies. Candidate should have minimum 5 years in the touring industry with department leadership or management experience combined with a technical aptitude for making it happen no matter what the obstacle or challenge.
Assist in making all travel arrangements including bus or plane travel and ''in-town'' cab, van or local bus service between hotel and the facility, as assigned by the Company Manager.
Arranging hotels at reasonable rates for all touring employees, giving regard to the safety and comfort as well as location in proximity to the facility for all employees.
Assist Company Manager and/or Performance Director with coordinating in and out of house publicity and promotions, such as local publicity assignments, pre-show announcements, etc. in cooperation with the local promoter. Directly responsible for coordinating transportation, storage and security of publicity costumes used for local publicity assignments.
Be responsible for the company callboard, collection of valuables, etc.
Provide administrative and clerical procedures necessary for the effective operation of the show.
Additional Performance Criteria
Candidate should have minimum 5 years in the touring industry with department leadership or management experience combined with a technical aptitude for making it happen no matter what the obstacle or challenge.
Ability to perform assigned responsibilities under minimal supervision, recognizing when assistance is required.
Ability to develop and maintain sufficient working knowledge of internal operations as they relate to the finance, operations, production functions.
Willingness to provide assistance to others, which contributes to a cooperative, productive work environment.
Adheres to and enforces all established guidelines and safety procedures outlined in VSTAR handbook.
