With oversight from and close coordination with VP, Business and Legal Affairs and Sales Operations, oversee day-to-day business and legal affairs management of the VIMN Program Sales legal team, who support a sales team of 12 across 4 clusters responsible for a 47M annual revenue mark
Basic Qualifications
• Function as key contact person and advisor on program sales exploitation and provide strategic oversight to sales and Business legal and affairs staff;
• Structure, draft, issue, and negotiate program license agreements (in excess of 400 per annum), internal program acquisitions, agency representation agreements, format deals, and all legal correspondence or documentation in connection therewith;
• Advise sales staff and Business and legal affairs on legal positions, best practices, and deal structuring;
• Devise legal and business strategies to inform sales’ business decisions;
• Conduct tutorials and provide ongoing training and support to regional Business and legal affairs and sales teams;
• Facilitate and devise efficient legal drafting & deal making and maintain and perfect language of contract templates;
• Perform rights analysis;
• Proactively identify, advise and communicate issues and brainstorm and suggest potential solutions to sales and business and legal affairs staffs;
• Handle ad hoc program sales related issues and documents;
• Oversee end-of year deal closure process to ensure revenue goals are met;
• Coordinate with regional and NY HQ business teams (Digital Media and/or Affiliate Sales);
• Serve as primary legal stakeholder for the Rights Management System (RMS);
• Work with head of department, MTS, the RMS vendor, Sales, Finance, the GCC on furtherance of the RMS system;
• Work closely with all sales operations teams (finance, sales ops, content management, marketing);
• Work closely with local and US Business and legal affairs teams, as necessary, to facilitate and further business goals;
• Manage, supervise, and coach direct report manager;
• Serve as senior member representing VIMN Business legal and affairs team at various company initiatives around company best practices on sales legal process and procedures.
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 5-8 years of experience in a legal management context.
• Position initiates communications, internally and externally, both written and verbal and on a worldwide basis, to effectuate successful processing of agreements and resolution of issues and must have excellent communication, administrative, and organizational skills; computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite); detail oriented, ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous responsibilities; strong interpersonal and presentational skills, as well as analytical skills, and ability to develop relationships with internal personnel and external contacts.
• Proven ability to work in a demanding, multicultural environment, across time zones and across and within foreign media environment and cultures, demonstrated sensitivity to multicultural environments and ability to communicate with multicultural clients groups, plus; a flexibility to adapt to a multinational work environment and a work schedule that accommodates multiple cultures and territories, including the ability to be a fast learner of multiple foreign customs, regulations, and jurisdictions.
• Keen ability to understand and re-assess on a constant basis the day, week, and year’s priorities, and handle matters accordingly.
• Versatility with numerous systems and databases, especially the company contract management system, and aptitude to gain proficiency with VMN’s internal rights tracking systems.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate priorities and needs internally as well as externally. Client-first attitude and ability to be service oriented.
