Overview: Mythical Entertainment is seeking an experienced, talented, and creative-minded Fabricator/Carpenter for our Art Department to build and create props, set decoration, and set dressing across all Mythical Entertainment content.
Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be a master of fabrication, carpentry, set-building, & painting with an excellent grasp of current art techniques and technologies. This individual will be detail-oriented with a strong understanding of digital content. They will demonstrate strong communication skills and an ability to articulate and receive creative direction. The right person must have the ability to handle a fast paced environment, taking on several projects in various phases of pre-production & production simultaneously.
>Perform the fabrication, carpentry, painting, and assembly needs for various art builds across Mythical Entertainment
>Construct various sets & props (both functional and non-functional) based on creative direction from the Art Directors, syncing on approaches to builds and working through any challenges that may arise.
>Provide onsite support to the Producers & Production team for builds as needed to ensure integrity and safety of the build; provide solutions to rigging and special effects challenges.
>Work with various team members to help establish the look and art needs for new formats
>Purchase raw materials, maintain expendables and maintain stock of hardware/tools needed for the various art builds as needed.
>Maintain standards for studio, set, and workshop including the maintenance, storage, and safety of these spaces as well as maintenance and storage of set pieces and tools.
>Coordinate the use of various set pieces and props on set, working closely with Producers, Writers, and Talent to provide use and care instructions
Requirements:
*Please include a portfolio of 3 - 5 examples from your professional experience*
>2 - 4 years experience building sets and props for content
>In depth experience and understanding of working with hand tools, power tools, shop tools, and the safety practices associated with all
>Thorough understanding of the pre-production, production, and post-production processes as they relate to Art needs
>Experience in diverse formats: commercials, animation, scripted, variety, reality, documentary, photoshoots, digital, social media, music performance, music video
>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining highly organized and detail-oriented
>Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance and spend multiple hours on their feet
>Strong written and verbal communication skills
>Excellent work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude
>Valid Driver's License
>Experience driving large vans and small box trucks
>High School diploma or equivalent
>Working knowledge of Google suite, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides
>Proficiency in Mac OS
