Associate Creative Director (Art Direction)
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Seeking an inspiring and dynamic Associate Creative Director (Art) to join the team at our brand consultancy, Robot. The ideal candidate is culturally involved, strategically minded, and can think both conceptually and visually to further enhance projects. They have a portfolio of work that demonstrates a diverse range of project types.
You will lead ideation, oversee deck creation, and create compelling creative across a variety of mediums including digital, TV, print, experiential, and apparel. You will collaborate closely with our team of Creative Directors, Strategists, Art Directors, Designers, and Writers to concept, design, and execute culturally relevant works that resonate with our creative vision.
Success in this role requires a culturally connected self-starter with impeccable craft, strong time management skills, and experience mentoring mid and junior-level art directors. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a high level of taste and aesthetic sense.
REPORTS TO: VP of Creative
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the development of insights-driven creative concepts, content, and storytelling for TSHC brands and partner campaigns
• Collaborate with the VP of Creative, the Creative Director, and other creatives to concept and execute across a variety of projects including advertising; branded content; social/PR stunts; logos, guidelines, and toolkits; digital and social media content; print and packaging; merchandise; and presentations.
• Lead development of presentation materials throughout the content development or campaign lifecycle
• Effectively communicate and present creative concepts to cross-functional stakeholders
• Balance multiple in-house and external client projects, with tight deadlines and an often high volume of work
• Elevate overall work quality by setting increasingly high standards and articulating ambitious creative opportunities
• Provide recommendations on artists, directors, editors, and other creative collaborators as needed for content and campaign projects
• Keep up with the latest cultural and industry trends and best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with TSHC internal teams (brand partnerships, marketing, social, production, etc) to develop strategies and ideas that support the execution of creative concepts within a campaign
• Promote a positive creative culture through teamwork and leading by example
• Participate in team brainstorms and creative team pin-ups
• Have a willingness to embrace change and adapt strategies on the fly
• Contribute to team building efforts including team training, development, onboarding, and mentoring junior creative staff
• Bring curiosity, grit, creativity, empathy, and passion every day to the team and this role
• Collaborate with Creative Directors, Director of Creative Operations, VP of Creative, and Chief Creative Officer to define the vision for the creative team
• Collaborate with the Creative Director and Project Managers to map out project timelines
• Collaborate with Strategists, Designers, Art Directors, Copywriters, and Producers to conceptualize and execute creative work at the highest level
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 7 years of relevant work experience
• Exceptional art direction skills
• Solid understanding of design thinking and process
• Experience working on brand and product campaigns in the fields of Advertising, Marketing, Fashion, Art, Sports or Entertainment
• Experience and knowledge of the gaming space is a major plus
• Demonstrated creative problem solver and strategic thinker capable of collaborating with creators of all types
• Extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills
• Expertise in Adobe Creative tools, Google Slides, and Keynote
• Be able to work under pressure
• Have an eye for detail, be highly creative and imaginative
