Job Summary:
Walt Disney Animation Studios combines artistry and storytelling with cutting-edge technology to bring wonderful new characters to the big screen for audiences around the world. We are currently seeking a Sr. Secretary to join our Burbank, CA team and help support the Creative Development team.
This team works on the early development process for animated theatrical feature films and Disney+ streaming content that results in the Walt Disney Animation Studios' upcoming release slate. This position works on assigned projects to execute the day-to-day process of filmmakers as they work to articulate and develop their feature film and long-form series ideas, from sourcing through ''greenlight''.
This is a support position best suited to an organized, flexible, and resourceful team-player with a passion for animated long and short-form narrative storytelling.
The Sr. Secretary reports to the Director of Development and takes direction from the DoD and Associate Producer to provide support for the department in a highly team-oriented environment.
This is an OPEIU position covered by a collective bargaining agreement
Responsibilities
• Support the Director of Development in the day-to-day operations of the development department, which is responsible for animated theatrical feature films and Disney+ streaming content that results in the Walt Disney Animation Studios' upcoming release slate.
• Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) managing the DoD's calendar, expenses, intra-department and external communications, travel coordination, and other general administrative support.
• Support the departmental and production projects as needed.
• Consequently, the role may provide opportunities to assist with project research, coordinate talent outreach, and interface with key partners and creatives.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, change course of action quickly & maintain professionalism under pressure

• Demonstrated ability to quickly digest and synthesize large volumes of incoming materials
• Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision.
• Proactive and resourceful
• General understanding of story structure and screenwriting terminology
Preferred Qualification
• A passion for film, television, theater, and/or animation is a plus
• Strong research skills & a love of reading are pluses
• Minimum 2 years administrative assistant experience, preferably in a film studio, agency, or production environment.
• Experience in a Development department preferred
The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $22.91 per hour.
