Responsibilities Overview
The Video News Assistant on the Digital desk provides editorial support to the team by scheduling, captioning and publishing video clips. They should have a keen interest in business news that's delivered in a multi-media platform. They are good team players, quick to pick up skills, and are able to work under pressure. They should be comfortable adapting to various technology platforms.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking an entry into a career in journalism and news production, with degrees in journalism, communications, media or business/economics. Qualifications/Requirements Key Responsibilities
• Scheduling digital clipping for videos from CNBC Asia television
• Interfacing with Video Editors globally
• Checking playback functionality and auditing content
• Writing compelling captions and headlines for videos to encourage viewing and sharing
• Copyediting and publishing videos to CNBC.com
• Work closely with the digital editorial team to ensure that relevant videos are placed in articles and set to ''autoplay'' once published
• Transcribing major interviews for use in digital news reports
• Assist digital editorial team in writing articles from TV guest appearances when needed
• Assist the digital video team with production, processing and uploading when needed
Skills
and Experience
• Keen interest in business news
• Fast learner who exhibits personal initiative
• A great team player
• Ability to write compelling video headlines and abstracts
• Computer-literate, strong communication and organization skills
• Comfortable with flexible work hours
• Prior internship experience in TV News Production preferred, but again, not essential
• Good attention to detail
• Previously experience of publishing articles / videos on internet would preferable
• Able to work on your own unsupervised and comfortable with high level of autonomy
Requirements
• Fluent in English – spoken and written. Chinese fluency is an advantage, but not essential
• Eligible to work in Singapore
