Temporary Social Media Editor: Runner's World and Bicycling
Rodale is seeking a temporary social media editor to oversee the social media presence for Runner's World and Bicycling in the New York City office. The successful candidate will work with the Digital Directors for Runner’s World and Bicycling to grow the sites' presence and referrals across platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing two social media editors who post to social channels (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest) for RunnersWorld.com and Bicycling.com
• Developing strategies to grow followings on all social platforms for both brands
• Observing social media trends and analytics to generate written, photo, and video story ideas
• Managing paid social-media campaigns for editorial and ad-sales teams
• Establishing and managing social partnerships with other brands
• Using analytics to understand audiences across platforms, and reporting those insights to editors to help create new content
• Collaborating with the brands' video editors to create engaging videos for the site and social platforms, including Facebook Live videos
• For Runner’s World specifically, crafting a new, more relaxed and relatable voice across those channels
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of experience managing the social media accounts for a health or lifestyle brand
• Experience with Sprinklr or comparable third-party social publishing tool
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Chartbeat, or comparable web analytics platform
• A proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Strong writing skills, including understanding of voice and attention to detail
• A solid understanding of the Runner's World audience and editorial mission
