POSITION PURPOSE: The Director of Locals Administration works collaboratively as part of the Locals Administration team. Team duties include working with national departments and locals across the organization in order to help identify opportunities, solve issues, streamline processes, and liaise between departments and locals. Additionally, this position has oversight for a specific group of locals for governance, communications, budgeting and other administration as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs various oversight and administrative functions as needed related to relevant locals, Locals Administration Department projects, organization-wide initiatives and other work as assigned.
• Serves as part of a collaborative think-tank working to identify creative and viable solutions for various complex issues and processes throughout the organization. Initiate/manage/assist/supervise special projects, and identify needed changes or alternative approaches. Help to develop and implement local or national strategies.
• Facilitates necessary membership communications as needed in the relevant locals including outreach, print and email communications, and supports national communications policy training and guidance.
• Assists national staff as needed to facilitate committee work, staff trainings, and roll-outs of projects/initiatives/events.
• Liaises between local leadership and relevant staff for organizing efforts, workshops, Foundation events, etc.
• Point of contact for the relevant locals to support SAG-AFTRA legislative issue advocacy and initiatives as needed.
• Handles general budget oversight for several specific locals.
• Is called upon as needed to support locals or departments towards completion of initiatives/projects.
• Serves as point of contact for local industry, labor unions and AFL-CIO, organizing staff, SAG-AFTRA Foundation, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Special knowledge and/or experience with problem solving and strategic thinking.
• Self-starter with follow-through on local or national projects, including presentations, initiatives and reports.
• Able to mediate/ease disputes with tact and diplomacy.
• Superlative interpersonal s]kills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, both internally and externally.
• Hold yourself accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.
• Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.
• Able to use PC applications.
• Advanced level of management experience and demonstrated leadership skills required to effectively manage and develop team and individual contributors.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in order to explain complex subject matter, promote collaboration and teamwork, build consensus, and persuade others
• Responsible; self-directed; pro-active; excellent follow-through.
• Fast learner to acquire sufficient, broad-based understanding of all relevant SAG-AFTRA contracts, and of the key priorities in the Locals to be served.
• Ability to communicate persuasively and effectively with various constituencies, including local members, locals' and national staff.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Understanding of team work.
• Must have high level of initiative and demonstrated ability to work independently to handle responsibilities that are often unsupervised.
• Must be able to work creatively in a challenging environment where constructive suggestions/directions are encouraged.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Undergraduate degree in relevant field from an accredited college/university and 5 years' applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• 5 -7 years' management/supervisory experience, required.
• Knowledge of entertainment industry, as well as issues affecting creative artists and professional workers, strongly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with problem solving and teamwork in an organizational setting
