Scripps Networks Interactive is currently seeking an Account Executive. The Account Executive will makes sales to specific on-air advertising accounts. Implements approved advertising sales strategies, sales marketing campaigns and promotions within a territory and/or with assigned accounts. Accountable for achieving advertising sales goals or quotas that are substantially greater than those of account executives.
Job Description:
Responsibilities
• Develop new advertising sales business and grow existing business
• Works with customers to sell the benefits and features of new advertising programs and products
• Carries out the entire sales process from initial contact to close
• Accountable for servicing assigned accounts
• Attracts and keeps important customers
• Maintain client/agency relationships
• May direct an account service representative who handles accounts on a daily basis once accounts are sold
• Interface with other sales offices on all relevant business
• Operates with a high degree of latitude and independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected
• Routinely leads a variety of team members in the completion of large, complex company-wide or inter-departmental projects having considerable scope and impact
• Interacts with key decisions-makers across the organization to achieve individual and team objectives
• Participates in mentoring less experienced members of the team
• May lead associate account executive(s) or sales assistant(s) who administer accounts on a daily basis after the close of the sale
Education
& Experience
• BS/BA in related discipline and at least 8-10 years of experience in related field - OR –
• MS/MA/MBA or other graduate degree and at least 5-7 year of experience in related field
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Is an individual contributor with significant, proven selling experience
• Has proven success in developing, closing and maintaining important assigned accounts
• Knowledge of best practices that may require significant innovation for improving products, processes or services by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical and business issues and challenges
• Ability to integrate internal and external views to create a business-relevant perspective
• Ability to anticipate resources requirements and modifies plans as needed
Computer/Technical
• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of computer software
Strongly Desired Skills
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
• Strong organizational skills with ability to act independently and responsibly
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work collaboratively with team members
• Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups
• Employees will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Work Environment
• Frequently sits at a computer terminal and desk
• Frequently walks to other areas within or outside of the department to distribute or gather information
• Occasional standing; occasional lifting moderate loads up to 25 lbs. ; frequent bending
• Stooping, crouching while filing; occasional reaching, twisting, turning
• Work requires significant local travel and may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
