The marketing team of RCA Inspiration has a hand in building the careers of both new and established gospel artists – moving them from a voice to a collection of songs to a brand. Then consider this VP Marketing role where you will lead the strategy and implementation of marketing campaigns for all RCA Inspiration artists while also contributing to the development and communication of RCA Inspiration broader label strategy.

Responsibilities
• Develop and execute marketing strategy for RCAI artists and label, including advertising and use of data/analytics. Ensure campaigns are connected to over-arching artist strategy, including singles released to radio and album releases, as well as media campaigns. Cultivate a culture of innovation within marketing team.
• Create strategic and tactical marketing campaigns for label artists. Oversee development of marketing plans for all label artists. Lead evaluation of effectiveness of marketing strategies and make recommendations of changes needed to respond to changing market conditions.
• Direct and oversee day-to-day functions of marketing staff. Coach, mentor, and raise team members’ ability to deliver and exceed expectations while developing staff skills. Manage performance, give guidance, assign and delegate work, train, ensure guidelines and policies are observed, and serve as a resource for conflict resolution.
• Serve as project manager for certain key releases, collaborating with promotion and sales staff. Develop and oversee timelines and lead planning meetings.
• Build and maintain strong, effective, collaborative working relationships with artists and artist managers as well as across the business unit. Articulate marketing strategy and recommendations in meetings and proposals. Communicate label marketing plans and expectations to management and communicate management and artist expectations and goals to label staff.
• Serve as key liaison with in-house Creative Services team and third party vendors to ensure visual tools support the brand and satisfy established project goals.
• Develop label marketing efforts with third-party brand partners. Evaluate and select appropriate partners. Develop relationships with partners whose goals may align with strategic plan for individual artists.
• Serve as business unit liaison with other Sony Music label marketing staff, (US and international). Develop effective communication with staff and partner on new and emerging opportunities. Actively participate in/take the lead on broader Sony Music initiatives. Ensure best practices are shared.
• Foster mutually beneficial relationships with industry trade organizations.
• Communicate as needed with appropriate booking agents and business managers.
• Develop measurable advertising campaigns that support overall project goals.
• Collaborate with artist teams, both internally and externally, to exploit product availability via tour visibility.
• Create marketing budgets and provide budget oversight for all artist releases, meeting annual overhead and profitability targets.
• Communicate with Business Affairs staff regarding legal issues.
• Travel for promotional events, industry events and meetings when necessary.
Qualifications
• Marketing experience with demonstrated knowledge of brand management and advertising principles, as well as substantial exposure to a wide variety of disciplines, including brand strategy, marketing plan development, and online marketing (typically gained through eight or more years of experience)
• Demonstrated experience managing others and collaborating cross-functionally toward execution of strategy.
• Prior experience in a creative industry (music, television, entertainment, etc.) strongly preferred; gospel music industry experience a plus
• Experience working with churches preferred
• Willing to work frequent nights and weekends and available for frequent travel
The ideal candidate will be an experienced strategist who can create brand identities for our artists and their products. The ideal candidate will be a driven but diplomatic people-person who enjoys fostering relationships with many personality types. Finally, the ideal candidate will lead with charisma.
