Senior Manager, Finance - Television Production
The Senior Manager Finance, reports to the VP of Financial Planning, US TV Production.The role is responsible for financial modeling of new television shows and is the key business partner to our business affairs team as it relates to network negotiations pre-greenlight.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare complex financial models for ''green-light'' approval of all series and pilots ordered to production, ensuring that financial metrics are in line with company financial targets
• Partner with Business Affairs and Development Executives to develop financial models in support of talent and network negotiations
• Work closely with distribution divisions to understand distribution ultimates provided for greenlight scenarios
• Analyze TV Series and film license agreements, co-production agreements, distribution agreements, and other relevant deals.
• Prepare greenlight financial presentations for approval by SPE CEO and CFO
• Complete special projects for Business Affairs as they arise.
Job Requirements
• BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required
• 5 years in financial planning within TV Production, and hands on experience modeling television series for broadcast network, cable and digital platform
• CPA and/or MBA a plus
• TV Production experience required
• Solid follow-through on all projects; ability to bring projects to timely completion; Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to coordinate timely information gathering from multiple sources.
• Strong MS Excel skills required
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong accounting / GAAP knowledge
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and PC skills
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management
