Are you passionate about music? The Agape Ringers, a Chicago-based handbell ensemble founded in 1992, is seeking a Musical Director who shares our dedication to creativity and musicality while bringing their own artistic vision to our performances. The position (part-time, contract) begins January 2019, and applications will be accepted through January 31, 2018.
Each year, we are thrilled to share the experience of handbell artistry with over 2,000 people through our concerts, workshops, and recordings. As an auditioned community ensemble located in the greater Chicago area, our mission comes alive as we Tour, Teach, and Perform with passion and style. Our incorporation as a not-for-profit organization in 1994 has also supported our musical mission through a strong operating structure.
We currently rehearse on Monday nights (7-9:30 p.m.) from September to June in La Grange, IL. The ensemble presents at least 6 concerts per year, including our annual December presentation Sounds of the Season. Most concerts are on Sunday afternoons except Sounds of the Season, which is on a Saturday afternoon.
