TIFF, a vibrant not-for-profit arts organization, is hiring for the full-time position of:
VIDEO PRODUCTION MANAGER
Responsibilities
• Have a strong grasp of the Video Team's Critical Path including responsibilities, priorities and timelines
• Manage approval & sign off
• Manage production timelines deliverables for all video projects
• Secure locations, permits, licenses, logistics for TIFF productions whether at TBLB or off site.
• Coordinate equipment rentals, capital expenditures, equipment purchases, and production budgets.
• Liaise with the various stakeholders and departments within TIFF to ensure productions run smoothly including attending production meetings and scheduling meetings.
• Negotiate and hiring production crew / contractors & freelancers including videographers, photographer and volunteers where appropriate.
• Draft contracts and agreements including managing payroll and ensure timely payment to freelancers.
• Build shooting schedules for festival and year-round event coverage, including but not limited to on-stage events, talks, installations, activations and fundraisers.
• Manage on location bookings and oversee location agreements where applicable.
• Assist Video Producers in pre-production & post-production tasks as needed.
• Supervise completion of the Production Reports as needed showing work covered and the status of the production, and arrange for the distribution of that report in line with the company's requirement.
• Liaise with local authorities regarding permits.
• Liaise with various internal departments to gather and organize materials
• Optimize production pipeline, delivery and publishing for various outputs included online, in cinema and in market.
Minimum Requirements
• 3-5 years of industry experience in a similar Production Management role in Digital Video/TV/Film production
• Experience handling multiple productions concurrently
• Agency experience a plus
• Highly organized, personable and detail oriented.
• Creative problem solving skills
• Basic accounting and finance skills
• Solid understanding of video production workflows form pre production to post production and ability to operate equipment should the need arise
• Network of Toronto area industry freelance professionals
• Experience dealing with high profile clients
• People skills, diplomacy and tact when working under high pressure situations
• Available during occasional evenings and weekends.
• Experience with various project management tools a plus. IE Trello, Wrike
