Job Title: Senior Compliance Executive
Department: Business and Legal Affairs
Reporting to: Head of Programme Compliance
Location: Hawley Crescent
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To ensure all Channel 5 programming, across all platforms, is suitable and ready for TX, and is compliant with the Ofcom Code of Practice.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• View via browse file all content in accordance with the Ofcom code, and arrange to have edited any material that is unsuitable edited
• Liaise with legal department to obtain legal notes for compliance of commissioned material
• Devise and send edit requests for any edits necessary. Attending more difficult edits if necessary
• Enter all programme notes in WON
• Daily update of programme information in WON to ensure correct versions of programmes are scheduled – liaise with scheduling with any mismatched programmes
• Refer any queries to Head of Programme Compliance
• Cover for HOPC in their absence
• Be responsible for overseeing Junior member of the team
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
• Working Knowledge of Ofcom Code of Practice
• Understanding of basic editing
• Passionate about television
• Experience of working in a pressurised office environment
• To be able to view material without prejudice to ensure that all programme content complies with the Ofcom Code
• To be able to work within a close knit team
• To be able to use one’s own initiative but to know when to refer up
• Ability to work to very tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to work within procedures and guidelines
